Mr. kamal Subedi is currently working as board of directors at Global Humanitarian Aid (GHA) Canada and Founding Central President of National Federation of Youth NGO Nepal (NFYN). He is also a Founding President of Good Governance Protection Forum (GGPF). As a Central President of National Federation of Youth NGO Nepal (NFYN), he took lead in ensuring multiple projects and activities that promote and protect youth rights. NFYN has more than 1000 youth NGOs working under its umbrella in Nepal and Subedi put his best effort to strengthen these youth networks at local and national level during his tenure in the organization. During his tenure at NFYN, Subedi led various advocacy programs on the issues of good governance, youth, peace, human rights, democracy and climate change. Under his leadership, NFYN, for the first time worked and advocated with the Nepalese government to setup a National Youth Council in Nepal. Subedi holds a deeper knowledge of Nepal’s youth development issues and opportunities in the field of employment, social development, local governance and federal system, climate change and disaster risk reduction, poverty, pro-poor livelihoods, human rights, GESI, peace and conflict issues. He has intensively worked in the expansion and promotion of Nepalese youth and Governance. Subedi is a well know figure in the sector of youth and development and has received numbers of youth awards and appreciation from various sectors. Given his multi-disciplinary academic background he has completed Bachelor in Education, Masters in Public Administration (MPA), Masters of Arts (MA) in Political Science and LLB. . Subedi’s passion rests with youth activism and youth participation in matters of policies, national and international politics, issues of climate change, employment, peace building, conflict resolution and many more. In 2018, he won an award and received a scholarship to complete a course on “Diploma in Development Leadership 2018” from STFX University, Cody International Institute, Canada. He has over 15 years of experiences of leading, managing and implementing development programs in the field of media and youth leadership development, good governance, biodiversity conservation & climate change, agro based entrepreneurship, disaster risk reduction, psychosocial support, livelihood and employment. Subedi has widely travelled in different parts of the world including, USA, Canada, Japan, Russia, Philippines, Bangladesh, China, India and Thailand. Lately, Subedi has joined Nepalese politics and is a member of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). Subedi ran for the House of Representatives in the recently concluded general election in Nepal in 2022 from the Dang Constituency-3. He received 15,326 votes in the election despite being new and fresh in politics. He is now the party's Central Training Department Secretary. He has been actively involved in social and political life and has worked tirelessly to encourage young people in Nepal to take on leadership and policy-making roles.
